Crane sections
The production of bent sections for telescopic cranes is the core business of Vlassenroot. From the choice of steel sheet to the delivery of the complete crane boom, all processes are handled internally.
The construction of a crane boom is very complex and can only be illustrated clearly using an example. For one of the largest cranes in the world, 24 construction modules are cut, bent and welded into 7 crane sections with a total length of 84 metres. The bent undercarriage alone of the third section consists of 3 construction modules with thicknesses of 9.5 mm, 8.6 mm and 10 mm, respectively.
